The Challenge

Increase attendance and raise sponsorship

The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007 by HRH The Prince of Wales to tackle widespread poverty and hardship in South Asia.

The British Asian Trust holds a fundraising dinner every year and wanted to boost the amount they raised at their 2017 dinner by increasing the number of attendees and sponsors, and in-turn the amount raised from those sponsors. They asked us to film at their 2016 event and create a video to help them with this challenge.

The Work

A series of videos made to impress

We filmed the event, working with our friend the brilliant DoP Jon Kassell to make everything look beautiful. We then created not just one video, but a series of slick videos which could be used in different ways for different audiences to impress, inspire and drive an increase in attendance and sponsorship. We created a “highlights video” to give an overview of the event, a video of the performance by Leona Lewis to drive traffic to the British Asian Trust’s social media channels, as well as several videos of Prince Charles and other speakers outlining the work that the charity carries out, to add emotional resonance to the event.

The Impact

Over £850,000 raised to support the cause

Over £850,000 was raised for the BAT, through an increase in attendees and increased sponsorship. The Leona Lewis video gained over 20,000 views on social media, driving traffic to the BAT’s other content. When interviewed, several attendees highlighted that it was video clips, such as the one of Prince Charles describing the work of the BAT, that had inspired them to support the cause by attending the event.
